Myths Busted

Common beliefs that are not supported by evidence. Each myth is corrected with what the research actually shows.

"Cholesterol is bad."

It is a mere hypothesis (not Theory level), and disproven. Don't blame the firemen for the fire. It is not the root cause of heart disease, but the body trying to heal chronic inflammation. See Cholesterol info below.

"Salt is bad for you."

Wrong. It was based on correlational studies (not proper, causal science) and does not address the systemic root cause. Too little salt is more dangerous than too much. Our kidneys can handle a lot of salt. Yes, salt increases blood pressure, but it also increases arterial flexibility.

"Fat makes you fat."

No, sugar spikes insulin which stores fat. Yes, excess energy gets stored. Fat (ketones) is the superior, biologically aligned energy.

"We need sugar."

No, our bodies make any glucose the brain needs.

"We need fibre."

No, many people eating the carnivore way disprove this claim. Also, the single small causal study that was done to confirm that we need fibre showed the opposite — that everyone improved when they avoided vegetables.

"Diabetes is forever."

Type 2 Diabetes is reversible. T1D can be better managed. Google "Virta Health" & "Stephen Phinney" — latest studies. See Diabetes info below.
